The minimum rental age for all vehicles is 21 years of age and, unlike other rental car companies, we don’t charge an excess if you’re under 25. How good is that?

A full and valid driver’s licence must be presented at the time your vehicle is being collected. Your licence must include a clear photo, and keep in mind that probationary licences are not accepted. International customers must present a driver’s licence written in English, or alternatively, a valid international driving permit for translation purposes.

The minimum rental period charged is 24 hours.

Payment needs to be made by credit card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express) when collecting the vehicle or online via STRIP. For card payments, the card holder must be present.The estimated rental value will be charged upfront, and a pre-authorisation is made for the applicable security bond. If the vehicle is returned undamaged and no additional charges apply (e.g refuelling etc.) then the pre-authorisation will be usually cancelled by the credit card issuer between 3 and 7 working days. We also may charge a pre-authorisation of $500 for first-time rentals. 

We recommend that you re-fuel your vehicle before returning it to avoid paying a re-fuelling surcharge.

Insurance is included on all commercial and passenger rental vehicles. A damage liability fee of $7,000 is standard in the event of an accident. You can also opt for a $1250 excess on passenger rentals or $2000 excess on commercial vehicle rentals by selecting one of our cover options. Zero excess available on request.

If you have used, or intend to use a toll road, please contact a staff member and let us know the time, date and location. This charge will then be added to your rental fee.

All vehicles are strictly to remain on sealed roads, meaning off-road driving is prohibited. For more information about where you can take your rental vehicle, speak to the team at the Network Rentals Surfers Paradise office. You are permitted to take your rental car on a ferry.

You may cancel your prepaid booking up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled pickup and receive a full refund. If you cancel the booking within 48 hours of the scheduled pick up time, you will receive a refund of 25% of the prepaid amount.

Yes, you can return your vehicle earlier than the selected drop off date.

We will attempt to contact you if you don’t arrive at the scheduled time. If we are unable to reach you and it has been an hour since your scheduled pick up time, we will cancel your booking.

If you’re involved in an accident, it’s important to remain as calm as possible and ensure you remove yourself from any potential danger. Gather the contact details (name, address, registration number) of all parties involved and if necessary, call 000 to contact emergency services (you can find emergency services details on your key tag as well). Please call our office to report the accident on 1800 736 825 before driving the vehicle.

Yes, we hold a $500 bond on first time rentals only. The bond is held on your credit card and provided there are no issues with the rental, the bond will be automatically refunded in five to seven days.
